Rizquez goes 5-5 as Vaqueros win 2 out of 3

The Central Arizona College won game 3 of a three game series with Phoenix College. CAC finished off the series with an 11-5 victory. This comes after the two teams split on Friday with the Bears of Phoenix College winning game one 2-1 and the Vaqueros winning game two 5-4.

The Vaqueros were led by Andris Rizquez in the rubber game on Sunday. Rizquez went 5-5 with four doubles and a triple. Rizquez also scored three times. The winning pitcher for the Vaqueros was freshman Connor Noble who gave up one hit and one run over four innings. The Vaquero pitchers struck eleven Bear hitters on the day. Offensively, the Vaqueros had eighteen hits with nine of them extra base hits. Sophomore infielder David Petrino had two hits and three rbi's on the day.

In the first game of the series, The Vaqueros were led by sophomore pitcher, Brock Dykxhoorn, who threw five innings giving up no runs and striking out eleven. In game two of the series, CAC was led by the sophomore Spencer O'Neil who had two rbi's. Sophomore pitcher Jared Koenig picked up the win in relief as sophomore Junior Zepeda picked up the save.

The CAC baseball team will be back in action on Thursday as they open up at home for a four game series with the College of Southern Idaho. The teams will play doubleheaders on Thursday and Friday starting at noon on each day at CAC field.
