On Saturday, Feb. 22, the CAC Baseball team finished a sweep of Scottsdale Community College at Scottsdale. CAC won the game 14-3 in a shortened game because of the 10 run rule. CAC was powered by a 9 run second inning. CAC is now 4-2 in conference play and 11-4 overall.
CAC was led offensively by Spencer O'Neil who was 2-2 with a triple and 3 runs batted in. David Petrino had a 3 run home run in the third inning. Cody Erickson went 3-3 with 2 runs scored.
On the mound, Justin Sweiwald threw 5 innings striking out 7 Artichoke hitters while only giving up one run.
CAC continues ACCAC play with a doubleheader on Tuesday, February 25 at Gateway who plays their home games at Gene Autrey Park in Mesa, AZ at noon.
