Grand Slam for Redaja-Vaq's rip Nats
The Canadian 18 and up traveling baseball program started off a grueling travel schedule in the southern United States this month and one of their stops was in the desert at Central Arizona College. The Vaqureos welcomed the Ontario Nationals with fourteen hits, eighteen runs, and a grand slam.
That's not very nice!
Head Coach Anthony Gilich split up the seven inning run rule game with Colin Ashworth, Keenan Lum, and Kamalu Neal on the mound and they gave up three singles, walked only two between themselves and won 18-0.

Colby Hamilton doubled, Matt Kimbel doubled twice, and Bryce Redaja hit one to deep right (meaning really deep, as in no doubt about it from the get-go) with the bases loaded as Central scored ten in the fifth and won easily. This was Redaja's first homerun of the year and it was one happy bench that greeted him at the plate.
Ashworth started and threw a quick four innings striking out four for his third win (3-1), and Lum and Neal gave up meaningless singles to close out what had to be a frustrating day for the Nationals team.
The Vaqueros of Central Arizona College have now won thirteen of fourteen and it's a beautiful weekend again as the conference leading, 2014 National Champions, and #2 in the nation Thunderbirds (26-6, 16-4) from Mesa Community College (Division II) visit for a noon DH.
Notes: Central is now second in hitting in the ACCAC with a .319 team batting average, third in ERA at 3.04, and tied for first with Yavapai Community College in fielding percentage at .967
