MJ, Hergert, Estrada with unbelievable day-Vaq's rip Scottsdale

It's days like this where you don't know where to start. But nine rbi's will do. Central wins 15-5.

MJ Hubbs, hitting third, totaled NINE rbi's, four of them on a grand slam, and another FIVE on a double and two singles (one of them a bunt) in a 4-5 day and that was just part of the performance of Friday's top of the lineup.

A granny and a bunt single. Enough said.

The two-hitter Tim Hergert went 4-5 also and scored FOUR times. Lead-off Jaime Estrada walked FOUR times and scored FIVE runs. Second baseman Cody Erickson scored three more for Central, and when you can't make a headline scoring three times, it's a good day.

New rule: Anything with four or up in a box score is capitalized in the Vaqueros article. But NINE?

The Vaqueros ripped fourteen more hits, Michael Lopez had a better-than-good perfromance in his return to the starting lineup with eight bayous in 5.2, and the Vaqueros have won 18 of their last 24 games. A nice cleanup for Central's bullpen of Sam Myers and Ben Nelson allowing zero in the final 2.1. The game ended after eight innings with the ten-run rule.

"It was a good day, but now we have to keep it rolling today at their place" said head coach Anthony Gilich.

MJ raised his hitting average to .383 and is now fifth in the ACCAC, and with nine ribs, is second with 46.

With three games in hand (hockey term), Central Arizona is now third in the conference in runs scored, rbi, stolen bases and batting average.

The pitching staff is now third in total strikeouts and ERA and second in total shutouts (3).
