Vaq's win 30th with four in the eighth.

The Vaqueros went ahead and fell behind and by the time the bottom of the eighth inning came around, Central was down 5-2. But you always have hope when the top of the lineup is up. But wait! It's the top of the lineup, but not the usual top of the lineup.

Head Coach Anthony Gilich switched up the days lineup giving some of the usual starters a rest and the new top of the lineup did what every top of the lineup should do, and that's get it started.

The Vaqueros put together a late rally scoring four runs in the bottom of the eighth and Christian Botnick did what he's been real good at doing, ending it, as Central won their eighth game out the last ten, 6-5.

Toby Johnson is now up over .300 with two more hits Thursday

Cody Erickson started at shortstop again and collected two more hits including a double and is now up to .302, Colby Hamilton, Chris Kobar, and DH Michael Lopez all collected late rbi's to help Central win. In another scoreless inning for his fifth save, Christian Botnick closed out for the win. Colin Ashworth threw a nice five innings striking out seven Bears, giving up four hits and two passes.

Big stretch coming up for the Vaqueros and it all starts after one day off as the Saturday DH against Arizona Western starts at high noon.

"It's a grind" coach Jerry Hardin will tell you. So far so good on this leg of the grind.

This nice win didn't change much, CAC remains four games back of South Mountain CC for the final Divisional playoff spot in the ACCAC with eleven conference games to come, two of them against SMCC.
