Central splits ugly DH with Cochise

That's a long ride back from Douglas. It's one thing for a split when you're basically driving to Mexico to play, but it's another when it's the second game that eats at you.

Game 1

Peyton Remy started game one and threw overall a pretty nice game. he threw his five innings striking out five and giving up four hits with three earned runs. He was relieved by Ben Skuro who threw a terrific final two innings and Central scored four times in the top of the seventh to win 7-4.

Brent Gibbs hit a go-ahead single in the inning and Brent Bailey and Andrew Chartrand added rbi's as Central worked Cochise for ten hits in seven innings, all singles.

Skuro won the game and continues to throw well and is now 3-0 on the season.

Game 2

ACCAC Player of the Week Caleb Henderson homered and drove in two runs, he now leads the team in hitting at .409, followed by Brent Gibbs at .408, and Jaime Estrada at .400. Chris Kobar and Makoa Rosario both walked twice but Central could only get seven hits on the day. In a 5-5 tie, the Apaches scored in the bottom of the eighth and won the ugly game two, 6-5.

Daily Carnes took the loss, but still pitched well again. Central turned three DP in game two and for the fourth straight game, committed no errors.

So that's good.

Hey it was an ugly DH and you may have noticed there were no comments from the coaching staff, but so what. Central is now 19-2 and 6-2 and in second place in the ACCAC and on the road for a stretch, it's two at Eastern Arizona this weekend.
