Madison College Recap

Game 1 3-2 (7 innings)

This was a seven inning baseball game and this means baseball game. Peyton Remy and Ben Skuro gave up a grand total of three hits and Caleb Henderson knocked in the winning run through the left side in the bottom of the seventh inning for the win. Jaime Estrada and Andrew Chartrand walked and with bases full with no outs after an infield error, Henderson came through with his third hit of the game.

What did you expect?

Mitchell Robinson doubled and knocked in a run while Ben Skuro won his fourth game. Peyton Remy started and gave up two hits, striking out three. Central led 2-0 after six innings but The Wolfpack tied the game after a couple of walks, a bunt single, and a double.

Finding a way to win. Any way will do.

Game 2 11-7 (9 innings)

The game featured five ties and four lead changes when Central put up a fiver in the sixth inning. With Madison College ahead 7-6 after 5 1/2, Central took advantage of three walks, a couple of wild pitches, an Andrew Chartrand stolen base, overall aggressive and heads up base-running and doubles from Brent Bailey and Bradley Morgan.

Bailey had a game going 4-4 with four rbi's, two doubles and even picked one. Brent Gibbs went 3-4 and Jaime Estrada scored three times.

"It was good to see our guys challenged twice and find ways to win" said Head Coach Anthony Gilich.

That seems to be this year's theme so far.

Finding ways to win.

Andrew Edwards struck out nine Madison College hitters in almost 5 innings and Ben Skuro relieved and picked up his fifth win. He is now tied with George Castillo for the most wins in the ACCAC. He is also second in saves with four.

These Vaqureos lead the ACCAC in runs scored and are currently ranked 3rd in the NJCAA.
