Vaqueros win 29th at Gateway-4 RBI's from leadoff

You can't beat a little pop off the bat from the leadoff.

Which tells you the bottom of the order is popping.

Andrew Chartrand drove in four runs with a triple and single, Chris Kobar doubled, and Mitchell Robinson and Ernie de la Trinidad both had two hits as Central kept the hot bats going and won at Gateway Community College 8-6 on Wednesday afternoon.

"Happy to see the guys bounce back" said head coach Anthony Gilich.

Everyone is much happier today than Tuesday. There was a lot of head shaking going on in Tuesday's loss to Gateway.

"This Gateway team is much improved and always happy with a win."

Lefty Ben Skuro threw the final three innings and Central scored three runs in the final two to win their 29th of the season. Skuro struck out two and the rest was all zeros, no hits, no runs. Skuro now leads the ACCAC in wins with six.

It's three games with Mesa Community College this weekend, Mesa is now 23-7 and 13-6, Central Arizona is now tied with Cochise Community College atop the ACCAC at 11-3. Central leads the ACCAC in wins with 29 and leads the league in runs scored and walks.
