Baseball Splits With Paradise Valley

Central Arizona traveled to Paradise Valley Community College on Tuesday and the drive back was probably a lot longer than the ride there. Central wins the first game 5-2 and loses the second 14-4.

Game 1

In the seven inning first game , Peyton Remy started and finished, throwing all seven, the first six for zeros. Remy (1.79) and Grant Townsend (1.76) are now fifth and sixth in the ACCAC in ERA. Paradise Valley scored their two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Remy struck out three and was solid the whole game. Pikai Duque-Winchester hit three doubles, driving in two of the Vaqueros five runs, Alix Garcia tripled and also drove in two runs. Makoa Rosario walked three times and scored twice.

Game 2

The Pumas got off to a quick start off Will McAffer (4-2) and Central hit the ball around pretty well totaling nine hits, but lost 14-4 in eight innings. Winchester got two more hits and went 5-8 in the double header, Sam Schroeder hit a solo homerun, and Alix Garcia got two more hits. The Vaqueros got some nice middle inning relief from Andrew Edwards, Gio Lopez and Sati Santa Cruz.

With the Yavapai College split on Tuesday DH with Chandler-Gilbert, Central Arizona remains 1/2 game back of the final D1 post season spot with 18 regular season games left.
