Vaqueros Trounce Okanagan 18-1

The Vaqueros from Central Arizona College scored 18 times Tuesday afternoon by hitting four more homeruns and the final was 18-1.

Pitching? Not too bad either.

Again.

Jake Vander Wal drove in seven runs, four with one swing, and yes it was a grand slam. He also doubled, scored three times and went 4-4. His seven RBI's now leads Division I JUCO. The Cowboys are getting it from everyone. Alix Garcia is still red hot going 3-3 with a homerun and trips. Daniel Cervantes and Liam Spence also homered at The Big House. Josh Dudden doubled twice, and Mr. Armando Aguilar homered and drove in five more runs.

"We continued to hit today. A lot of extra base hits" said head coach Anthony Gilich.

"We did a good job in our non-conference games, but the ACCAC is another animal. We'll get challenged in every game."

14-0 non-conference is yes, a good job.

R.J. Dabovich won his third game of the year and threw his five innings striking out five, his ERA is at 0.00. Avery Jones and Joe Standley finished up in the run-rule seven inning game.

Central now has six current pitchers who haven't given up an earned run, they have a team ERA of 1.97.

Central kicks off ACCAC play this weekend at home with Arizona Western.
