Vaqueros Score 32 Runs in DH Sweep

The final scores against Benedictine College were 14-1 and 18-8.

Daniel Cervantes went 5-8 with eight RBI's in both games and head coach Anthony Gilich said only this about that.

"On fire!"

Cervantes has only played in six games so far this year, and he has more than impressed, hitting five homeruns and sporting an impressive .900 slugging percentage. Number 7 hit two more homeruns, driving in five runs in game two of the Central sweep. He also doubled in game one driving in 3 runs.

Jacob Hilton had another "good start" said Gilich in game one throwing five innings and striking out seven, walking two. Luke Schwartz doubled twice and went 3 for 6 in the DH playing outfield in both games. He drove in four runs and scored three times.

"It was good to see Schwartz and Nate Young get an opportunity and play really well" said Gilich.

Young started at catcher and rapped two extra base hits, one, a catcher-rarity, he tripled! He also doubled.

Lots of bats on this year's team and where do you put them all?

Other highlights:

-SS Ernny ordonez had a 4-4 night in game 1 with a double, two rbi's and scored twice.

-While sitting in game two, Alix garcia hit two more doubles in game one.

-Chris Diehl went 3-3 with a double in game two as the DH.

-Mr Armando Aguilar went 2-5 in game two with another blast. That's four for him. He drove in 2 and scored three times. He now has 18 rbi's.

The Vaqueros are now off to Glendale Community College for a double header this Saturday.
