Vaqueros Win 12th Straight

You could think the powerful Mesa Thunderbirds might have a high hope sleeved with an expectation or two when they hit the field at home against Central Arizona College.

The small problem is that it's RJ Dabovich today.

Mesa Community College led the ACCAC in wins with 31 at the start of the day and it stayed that way. Dabovich won his sixth game of the year by going seven innings of three-hit baseball, and Alix Garcia along with Brennan Reback homered as Central won their 29th game with a final of 5-2.

"He was lights out" said head coach Anthony Gilich.

"And we hit the ball well all day but right at their defenders."

The Vaqueros stole four bases to make things happen when shots were going right to the Mesa defense, and the runs plated when Reagan Teegarden and Daniel Cervantes scored on Reback's three-run homer, and Jake Vander Wal tapped on Garcia's two-run ding. Dabovich now has an ERA of 0.63 and has won six straight.

Central Arizona has won 12 straight games. Lookin' good. Back at it today with a Mesa game at The Big House.
