Tellechea This Time As Vaqueros Win 11-1

The Langley Blaze came a few miles from British Columbia to enjoy a nice day down south and they probably did enjoy it even though they lost 11-1. You wouldn't think their expectations would be high facing a JUCO powerhouse, but it was a beautiful day and the Central Arizona College baseball team rallied behind spot starter Luis Tellechea.

Tellechea threw five strong innings and struck out seven batters while giving up only two hits. The hard work and patience paid off for Luis as he had a true sparkler. The secret that everyone knows is to keep batters off balance to induce a swing and miss or weak contact and that is what happened. Tellechea had his slider working keeping everyone off balance and Armando Aguilar hit his sixth homerun, Devin Ray doubled and drove in two, and the Vaqueros walked eight times in the win. Luis won his second game and is striking out batters 12 times per nine innings.

Grady Miller and Koa Eastlack stopped the Goot Guys for the final three innings. It was an eight inning run-rule game.

All conference games the rest of the way for Central, they visit Phoenix College for two on Saturday.
