Vaqueros run-rule their way again to Championship Day in Western District Finals

The Vaqueros win 13-5 and with two straight run-rule wins, advance to Championship Saturday.

The first thing that pops into your mind is that the Central Arizona College Vaqueros walked twelve times.

Then there's this thing going on with Liam Spence, who hit his third homerun in two games, Western District Finals games no less...and his only three of the year.

Then there's this guy named Josh Dudden who suddenly has hit HIS first two homeruns of the season...in these finals, in one game. And he added a triple, but somehow that pales.

Ian Raidy added his second of the year.

The unusual supsects.

So back to normal Central Arizona College stuff.

Lately-bullpen star Dakota Donovan was moved back into the rotation filled with injuries this year, and he has thrown just as well here as there. It was a seven inning complete game with no walks and four strikeouts as he continually kept Southern Nevada's hitters off balance and it was fitting the final inning was just a few slow rollers to end this one.

Add a few head's up infield plays that caught runners and a sparkler grab in center from Clayton Keyes and the Central Vaqueros play on Saturday and have to be beaten twice. This tournament winner heads on to Grand Junction for the JUCO World Series.
