Track Season Begins

The Men's and Women's Track teams took to the track for the first time this year last Saturday only to be joined by cold wind and lots of rain.  The wet weather deterred many from competing.  Central's teams went on to qualify for Outdoor Nationals 21 times.  The meet was started by five 10,000meter runners qualifying.  The very next race, both CAC 4x100 relays hit the National standard in pouring rain.  Following that was Kim Golding qualifying in the 100Hurdles.  Sophomore Chloe Newell easily qualified in the 5000 meter run as did a number of throwers in their events.  Probably the highlight of the meet was the Men's Long Jump.  Travonn White (25 feet) and Charles Greaves (24-7) easily surpassed the Outdoor Standard while Bruce De Grilla (23-9) followed them up for third place.
