CAC Track Competes in Conference Meet #2

Centrals Men and Women's teams continued their ACCAC good fortune by sweeping the Conference schools in the final ACCAC meet of the year.  The Vaqueras have now gone 18 years (as long as CAC has had a women's team) without a Conference loss.  The Men have only lost one conference meet since 1984.  Outstanding performance were had by many including Lakeeda "Kiki" Wilson who qualified for the National Meet in her specialty the javelin.  Other new qualifiers included Kailee Birdinground in the steeplechase and the Women's 4x400 relay. Alex Wellington had a big personal best in the hammer going 47.63m. Sametra Kelly had a seasonal long jump best of 5.55m.  Kimberly Williamson qualified in the women's triple jump as well.  Both Elexis Fuller-Stewart and Ben Trotter had seasonal personal bests in the 100 meters going 11.59 and 10.38.  Possibly the performer of the evening though was Kandice Yourist.  She qualified in both the 200m (24.14) and the 400m (55.52).  Both these times place her in the top 6 in the NJCAA in both events.  Next week CAC travels to San Diego for the Triton Invitational.
