CAC Track setting records

CAC Track teams performed well at their last indoor qualifier at CAC preparing for next weeks Indoor NJCAA Nationals in Winston-Salem. Many highlights included the second fastest Distance Medley Relay time in the country for the women. Led of by a very fast 1200 from Marleena Eubanks, the team of Camira Haughton (pictured below), Ramsay Chancellor, and Kaitlyn Volk ran the a 12:32 to list the second fastest time in the country a full 17 seconds ahead of third place. 

Haughton also had a great 400m later in the day running 55.06, also the second fastest NJCAA time this year.  Other women that had a good showing were Magaly Tshipopo in the hurdles 8.75 (ranked 6th in NJCAA) and 19' long jump (9th in NJCAA), Kilee Hagerstrand in the hurdles 8.87 (10th in NJCAA), Trevia Gumbs 59'11" in the 20lb Wt. (3rd in NJCAA), and Portious Warren again increasing her NJCAA Record to 53' 11" in the women's shot.

The Men had good performances from Oscar Amaya in the Mile running 4:22 (Ranked 17th in NJCAA), Jorge Perez running 15:16 in the 5K (13th in the NJCAA) and Kyron McMaster running the 600m in 1:22 (Ranked 21st in NJCAA).  Brandon Lucas ran the 200m in 21.44 (10th in NJCAA).

Both teams go into Nationals with numerous chances to come home with individual gold medals. Both teams are ranked in the top five as a team as well.
