The Men and Women's Cross Country team ran a very strong performance in this year's UC Riverside Invitational.

There was over 300 runners in the Mens race, and 250 runners in The Womens race.

The Mens team was led by Gilbert Kigen who won the Mens 8k race with a very fast time of 23:37.

The Women were led by Katherine Volk who ran a personal best time for a 5k  of 18:01.

Both the Men and Womens team ran a faster average time this year, than what they had at the same race last year.

The Men had their top 5 men all run in the 25's for 8k, and the Womens team top 5 runner were all in the mid 19's and faster.

Coach Tavares states that he is very happy with the work ethic of this special group of runners. We have started the season with a solid performance, but there is still a lot of work ahead of us. We will still need to get faster. I feel that this group is up to any challenge put ahead of them.
