Vaqueras sweep Glendale, improve to 22-1

CAC collected 27 hits, scored 22 runs, hit 4 home runs, and stole 4 bases in Tuesday's doubleheader sweep vs. Glendale. 

In game 1, Sabrina Garcia got the scoring started with a three run home run to leftfield. In their second at-bats, Ana Rodriguez (11) and Bella Garcia (8) both hit home runs, going back-to back with impressive shots. Brooke Williams opened up the scoring later in the game with a bases clearning, three RBI double. Nicol Ley had five hits on the day and is batting .580 on the season with 3 HR, 25 RBI, and 14 XBH. SS Kyana Vieux also had four hits on the day, including an RBI double. CF Marina Acedo had three hits in the DH sweep and 2 RBI's. 3B Emily Churchill had 2 hits on the afternoon and has 7 HR and 22 RBI for the Vaqueras this season. Kyra Vieux had a multi-hit performance in game one.

Jessica Mercado improved to 7-1 on the season, picking up the win in game 1 (3.1 IP, 1 ER, 5 K). Katelyn Woodard tossed 2.2 innings and picked up the save, her fourth of the season. The Hamilton High School alumni came into the game with a two run lead and retired 8 of the 9 batters she faced. She is 7-0 on the season to go along with her saves. CAC exploded for 8 runs in the final two innings of game 1 to end the game in six innings. In game 2, Ana Rodriguez improved to 8-0 and recorded another complete game shutout (7 IP, 11 K, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 H).
