Casa Grande, AZ 

The Vaqueras basketball team took a break from preparation for the thier upcoming Holiday Tournament in Las Vegas to visit Saguaro Elmentary school on Wednesday. It was an opportunity to give back to the community of Casa Grande and spend some quality time with K-5 students during class time. The Vaqueras players participated in reading books to the class, getting hands on with arts and crafts, teaching some basketball skills on the playground and even signing a few autographs.

"It was a great morning for our players to take thier mind off of basketball for a few hours and interact as role models and mentors to these fantastic young kids... it was great to see so many smiles from all involved" commented Vaqueras Head Coach Geoff Golden.

Saguaro elementary teacher Guadalupe Rodriguez said "It was such a great experience for our students. They kept talking about it all day. The girls definitely made an impact in all the classrooms they visited. I appreciate you thinking of our school for this unique opportunity." 

The Vaqueras will travel to Nevada on Sunday Decemeber 18, to play 10th-ranked Salt Lake, No. 5 Southern Idaho and Southern Nevada Dec. 19-21 before resuming ACCAC play at home against Arizona Western on Jan. 4.
