Early outburst! Vaq's rip Gateway CC

Before you could even settle in, the Vaqueros had loaded the bases twice and the score was 5-0 in the top of the first inning. Jaime Estrada starting the hitting with a line shot to left scoring two and after four innngs the Vaq's had staked starter Dakody Clemmer with a 10-1 lead. No need to pitch much more than 4 inings when you're sitting more than throwing. Central kept hitting, Clemmer sat and when he did get in to pitch, they were 5 minute innings for him it seemed. Clemmer threw four, fanned three, and gave up an earned run to get his second win. He was in command.

The Vaqueros totaled twelve hits including triples from Josh Ethier and Caleb Henderson, doubles from Jaime and Sam Welton, gathered eight walks, and stole a couple of bags in a 13-4 win. When you're ripping the ball everywhere, the "bunting club" disappears, no SACS on the day.

All nine starters hit for Central.

MJ scored four times, Ethier and Tim Hergert twice, and Estrada drove in three. This was an all around team win, the Vaqueros did everything.

The Gene Autry Park is a large yard, 365 down left and 420 into center field.

"This isn't my favorite park" said head coach Anthony Gilich. "The dugouts are weird."

It's a beautiful complex and it was a beautiful night watching those balls go everywhere from the Vaqueros in their away gray uni's. And that Ethier triple was something to see, an absolute bullet into right-center over the center fielders head, and it was a decision for third base coach Greg Bordes to keep Ethier at third. An insider was available, but Bordy held him at third, it was early and there was no need to send him.

The Vaqueros have won four in a row and have a DH at The Casa Grande in Coolidge Saturday hosting Glendale Community College at 12 noon.
