Myers 10k complete game. Vaq's win 8th straight

Well looky here. The Vaqueros rotation got out of rotation because of the Colorado Rockies spring game so Sam Myers got the start and threw the first 9 inning complete game of the year, and the Vaqueros won their 8th straight baseball game 3-1.

This was an unbelievable performance in his first college start. Myers gave up only four hits, walked only one and struck out ten while lowering his ERA to 3.93. This has to be one happy player.

88 pitches.

"I was proud of him. He did a good job" the understated HC Anthony Gilich said afterwards. "We had a tough time getting going offensively, but our pitching and defense got it done." The Vaqueros sit at second in the ACCAC with only 28 errors committed, one more than South Mountain and Yavapai Community Colleges.

Jake Brown, Caleb Henderson and Tim Hergert knocked in the three runs, Hergert with an exciting third inning triple. Jaime Estrada reached three more times with two hits and another walk (that's a team leading 15 on the season) and is currently hitting an eyebrow-raising .340.

The Vaqueros host Northeastern this morning at The Big House at 10am before jumping in vans and heading up to Scottsdale for another. Let's play two!
