Seven for eight and six rbi's.

Two doubles and a triple.

Ten total bases.

This is Alix Garcia in Saturday's DH against Yavapai College. And pretty much all year. Garcia singled three times in game one, doubled twice and tripled in game two as Central took two. He is now atop the country with 31 RBI's. 

The finals were 4-2 and 13-8, two big conference wins for the Vaqueros who are even at 3-3, 17-3 on the year. In game one (7 innings) Nick Trogerlic-Iverson went the whole seven with another great game as each start has been this year. Five starts and an ERA under one (.098). He struck out nine and walked only two holding the Roughriders to two runs, and it was 2-2 going into the bottom of the seventh.

Second baseman Devin Ray doubled to lead off the inning with an almost thunderous roar from the dugout and the very next batter Brennan Reback slammed one out of the house for a 4-2 walk-off win. It was something to see.

Liam Spence doubled again, and it was a quiet game one until the end, but no problemo with Iverson on that mound.

Game two? Whole different gig. 

It was 4-3 after the first, and Central led 8-3 after four. Yavapai scored five more before the day was done, but none scored on Joe Standley. Standley stuffed any threat there might have been with six strikouts in the final three, giving up one hit and not walking a batter. This was his best performance yet and really when he was needed the most. 

Central hit safely 14 times and walked another six times for a 13-8 win and the sweep.

Garcia went 4-5 with two doubles and banged a triple driving in five runs. He also scored three time. Busy, busy day for the first baseman. Liam Spence had a great day going 4-7 with three singles in game two, Jake Vander Wal and Ernny Ordonez added doubles. Catcher Nick Cheema homered again, and so did Mr. Armando Aguilar. Each has two this year so far. Seven more stolen bases for Central in game two, Central is now WAY out front in the nation in SB's. Clayton Keyes is a big reason, he stole three more in game two.

You can't win against Central Arizona College unless you keep them off the bases. 

Grady Nelson started and threw five innings and in a big day after the first inning, struck out nine batters. 

Yavapai slinks into last place as conference play has started at 0-4. Next up for the Vaqueros is a big road trip to Douglas against Cochise.
