Central Arizon College had a strong showing at the NJCAA indoor championships with both Mens and Womens team finishing in the top 10. 

CAC had 3 National Champions at the meet.

Johnathan Ply in the Heptathalon. Devia Brown in the Weight throw. Cherisse Murray in the Shot put. 

Four CAC jumpers and multi event athletes qualified for this year's Championship:

Men

Jonathan Ply, (Heptathlon 3^rd to 1^st, High Jump, Pole Vault 6^th to 5^th).

Owen DeSilva, (Pole Vault tied for 3^rd to 2^nd).

Women

Regina Yeboah, (Pentathlon 2^nd to 2^nd, High Jump tied for 1^st to 4^th).

Hailey Holmes, (Pentathlon 11th).

On the men's side:

Sophomore, Jonathan ply came into the meet ranked 3^rd. He posted 2 personal bests in the Long Jump and Shot but was still down by 199 points after day one. Typically an insurmountable deficit, but "JJ" has a strong 2^nd day. He ran an average 60 hurdle race but tied his Pr in the Pole Vault to move within 14 points of the overall lead. JJ ran a strong 1000 to win the overall Heptathlon with a score of 5350, by 183 points. With a short break after day one JJ had to prepare himself for the open High Jump and Pole Vault, which were at 6pm and 7pm. He improved his ranking in both events and finished 5^th in the High Jump with a 6'10.75 mark. He also finished 5^th in the pole Vault with a jump of 14'9.25.

 Teammate, Sophomore Owen DeSilva came into the meet tied for 2^nd and finished with the silver medal jumping 15'3. Narrowly missing the winning height brushing it on the way down…

 On the women's side:

Sophomore, Regina Yeboah and Freshman Hailey Homes entered the Pentathlon ranked 2^nd and 11^th respectively. Both ladies started out with personal bests in the 60m Hurdles. The HJ was the next event and as expected Regi easily won, while Hailey set another personal best. Hailey continued her string of Pr's in the Shot Put, and Regi threw slightly below hers. The Long Jump was next and neither girl was able to set a personal best. In the final event the 800m run, Hailey took the lead and ran a strong race with Regi right on her heals. It was enough for Regi to finish 2^nd overall and Hailey moved to within 2 points of 8^th place.

The throwers performed very well.  Three indoor personal bests, two national champions, two second places, one international record, and one indoor championship meet record.  Johann threw a huge pb and set a new Grenada u20 indoor record for the 7.26kg shot put to finish second in the event.  Cherisse defended her 2018 indoor championship title by breaking the meet record with and indoor personal best and also came in 4^th place for the weight throw.  Devia threw a pb to win the weight throw; she also placed second, behind Cherisse, in the shot put.
