Vaqueros Add Top Recruits to Strong Returning Squad

Central Arizona College Cross Country added three additional student-athletes to an already impressive squad for the 2023 season.

Jordan Myers, Sam Gilson, and Thomas MacAskill will be joining next season's squad which placed 7th at last year's NJCAA National Championship meet.  The team also won the ACCAC Region and Conference Titles.

"Three runners we recently signed will pave the way for our quest to bring CAC Cross Country back to the top"  Stated Head Coach Jon Harmon.

From the 2022 squad, only 2 runners will be graduating from the top 8, meaning the group will be lead by a core of sophomores with collegiate racing experience.

"The men are in a good position next season as we will have a lot of sophomores returning, I know they are hungry to do better than our 7th place finish at Nationals last season" Stated Harmon.

Jordan just finished competing at the California State Indoor Championships where he ran personal bests in the 600 and 1500 races.  He specializes in the 1600 and 3200 in outdoor.

Sam and Thomas both will be traveling across the Atlantic to be competing with the Vaqueros next fall as both hail from The United Kingdom.  Sam and Thomas both specialize in the 3000 and 5000 for indoor and outdoor.

"I am ecstatic to bring on Jordan, Sam, and Thomas to next year's core group" "I believe those three will push for a spot on our Region and National team and will make the group stronger moving forward."  Said Harmon.
