Softball Wins Sixth In A Row With Glendale Sweep

The Central Arizona Vaqueras continue where they left off last year, improving and improving, and with 25 hits on Tuesday. swept a DH from Glendale Community College.

The scores were 7-0 and 18-1 in five innings.

Game 1

Devin Hally pitched a three hit shutout in game one striking out seven and winning her ninth game of the year. Central "here and there'd" Glendale with three two run innings which included a Brianna Moeller double. The rest of Central's hits were singles, Jessenia Miranda drove in two runs and Samantha Soto hit a sacrifice fly.

Game 2

It was 8-1 after two innings and 14-1 after three, the game was a five inning mercy rule. Central ripped 18 hits including four more from Brianna Moeller who went 6-8 in the DH. The first six Vaquera hitters each had at least two hits apiece with Moeller driving in four, Analisa Cordova and Brittany Holland driving in three. Lindsey Smith doubled twice and Brittany Holland and pitcher Kyrstan Garcia each homered.

Garcia not only hit her second homerun, she pitched three innings and picked up her seventh win. Lauren Shirley wrapped up the game's final two innings, striking out three.

Central Arizona is now 14-3 and 17-5. What a run this years softball race will be with red hot Central, Yavapai, Eastern and Western Arizona, and Phoenix College.
