Central's Kim Dismuke Wins 2019 USATF President Award

RENO -- Vin Lananna, in his first award presentation since being reinstated as USATF president and board chair, addressed the crowd to recognize the 2019 USATF President's Award recipients, at the Opening Session of USATF Annual Meeting in Reno, Nevada.

2019 President's Awards honorees:

Kim Dismuke
In 2019, Dismuke became the first female head coach of a USATF men's national team at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland. She's now in her 12th year as Assistant Head Coach of Women's Sprints at Central Arizona College, and is currently the Women's Committee Chair of USATF Arizona Association.

Paul Greer
Over the past 32 years, Greer has coached over 10,000 runners and was recently selected to be the men's coach for Team USATF senior and U20 (Junior) teams at the Great Edinburgh Cross Country Championships. He is a professor in Health and Exercise Science at San Diego City College, has 32 years of coaching experience and coaches for the San Diego Track Club, the largest running club in San Diego.

Jackie Joyner-Kersee
Joyner-Kersee is considered by many to be the greatest female all-around athlete in history as a four-time Olympian and one of the most recognized athletes in the world. Her achievements include three Olympic gold medals, four World Outdoor Championships golds, and she still holds the heptathlon world record of 7,291 points.

Duffy Mahoney
Mahoney first arrived at USA Track & Field in September of 1989 as national teams manager and is now the longest-tenured employee within the National Office. His career spans from teaching and coaching at Long Beach High School in New York, to coaching the Saudi National Team, to head coach at St. John's University in New York. He earned a varsity letter at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana after walking on the track and field team.

At USATF, he's been Director of Operations, Director of High Performance Programs and currently he serves as Chief of Sport Performance in his 30th year of service to the organization.

Connie Price-Smith
Price-Smith, a four-time Olympian, holds 25 national titles in the shot put and discus combined, owning the distinction of being the winningest USATF female athlete in her events. She made every U.S. national team from the 1987 World University Games to the 2001 World Indoors, and is considered the best U.S. discus and shot put combo athlete of all time. She was the first American woman to hold a top-ten world ranking in the shot put for five consecutive years (1995-1999) and recently served as the head women's coach for the U.S. Olympic Track & Field team at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Moushaumi Robinson
Robinson, a 400m and relay specialist, is a 2004 Olympic 4x400m relay gold medalist. In winning 4x400m relay gold at the 2003 Pan American Games, she helped earn the first gold medal win for Team USATF since 1991. She is a proud Texas Longhorn and serves on the USOPC Athlete Advisory Council in addition to being a coach and first grade teacher.

Cliff Rovelto
Rovelto is the USATF Coaches Advisory Committee Chair and Director of cross country and track and field at the Kansas State University entering his 28th season at the helm of K-State's track program and his 32nd season at the school. During the summer of 2016, he served as an Assistant Coach for the U.S. Men's Olympic Track and Field team at the Rio Olympic Games.

Wallace Spearmon
Spearmon ran sub-20 in the 200-meters a total of 24 times, passing Michael Johnson and tying Frankie Fredericks on the all-time list. He's a three-time 200m World Outdoor Championships medalist, and he won the World Cup in 2006. A two-time Olympian, Spearman was recently inducted into the University of Arkansas Hall of Fame. He currently serves on the AAC Executive Committee and USATF Board of Directors.

Oregon 21
This Pacific Northwest City has a long history of hosting world-class track and field events and a tradition and reputation as Tracktown, USA. A brand new Hayward Field, a start of the art track and field facility will be the perfect place to host the World Athletics Championships in 2021. The 10-day event will bring the greatest athletes in the world to Oregon and to the United States for the very first time to compete in the world's largest sporting event in 2021.

Chicago Marathon
This Midwest Marathon welcomes thousands of runners from more than 100 countries and all 50 states, including a world-class elite field, top regional and masters runners, race veterans, debut marathoners and charity runners.

The race's iconic course takes runners through 29 vibrant neighborhoods where an estimated 1.7 million spectators line the streets cheering on more than 45,000 runners. As a result of the race's national and international draw, the race assists in raising millions of dollars for a variety of charitable causes while generating $338 million in annual economic impact to its host city.
