Women Track and Field Place 2nd at the 2024 ACCAC Conference Championship

The Men and Women Track and Field Teams competed at the ACCAC Conference Championships hosted by Paradise Valley College on Friday.  Central Arizona did not field their complete team but managed to claim 2nd at the meet while also having solid performances notably from Mikelia Strong (Sophomore), Grace Kombetto (Freshman), Kaise Ugeh (Sophomore), and Rejoice Agbewodie (Freshman).

Mikelia qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor National meet in the 100 meter hurdle race with a time of 14.51 and currently has the 9th best time in the nation. 

Mikelia was also conference champion in the 200 meter race.

Grace qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor National meet in the 400 meter hurdle race with a time of 1:01.36 and currently has the 4th best time in the nation.

Grace was also conference champion in the 400 meter hurdle race. 

Kaise qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor National meet in the Discus with a mark of 149' 9" and currently has the 6th best distance in the nation. 

Kaise was also conference champion in the shot put.

Rejoice qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor National meet in the Discus with a mark of 163' 11" and currently has the 4th best distance in the nation.

Rejoice was also conference champion in the discus and javelin. 

The track and field teams will be back in action on April 6th at the Triton Invitational which is being held at The University of California-San Diego.
