Vaqueras Compete at Brian Clay and Glendale to Conclude Busy Weekend

The Central Arizona Men and Women Track and Field Teams competed at the Brian Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University on Friday and Saturday while a small group competed at the Gaucho Invitational hosted by Glendale Community College on Saturday.  Central Arizona did not field their complete team at either meets but had some solid performances notably from Grace Kombetto (Freshman), Aliyah Gidharry (Freshman), and Rejoice Agbewodie (Freshman).

Grace qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor National meet in the 800 meter with a time of 2:08.51 and currently has the best time in the nation. 

Grace also qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor National meet in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 59.60 and currently has the best time in the nation.

Aliyah qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor National meet in the Javelin with a throw of 133' 6" and currently has the 7th best distance in the nation.  

Aliyah also has the top Heptathlon point total in the nation.

Rejoice Agbewodie qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor National meet in the Javelin with a throw of 159' 9" and currently has the 2nd best distance in the nation.

The track and field teams will be back in action on April 19th at the Mesa Invitational held by Mesa Community College.
