Vaqueras Add to Tough Returning Class by Signing Top Navajo Nation Runner

Saturday

The Central Arizona College Women's Cross Country Team nabbed one of the top prep athletes in the state on Saturday by signing Reshila Curley of Chinle, AZ.

Reshila, who also is a member of the Navajo Nation, adds to a very strong returning group of sophomores for the 2024-2025 season.

"Reshila comes from a program very similar to CAC, she was ingrained a tradition of competitiveness and resolve"  Stated Head Coach Jon Harmon.

Reshila has been a part of the Chinle Wildcat squads which were 3rd (2021), 1st (2022), and 4th (2023) at the Arizona High School State Cross Country Championships.  In 2020 the Navajo Nation decided to not compete in athletics due to the pandemic.

"I truly believe Reshila will have success with our program"  "Her coach, support system, and faith have been instrumental in her success." "Most important is her own desire and commitment to the sport". Stated Coach Harmon.

Reshila joins fellow Native American runners Megan Tsabetsaye, Alesyia Barlow, Temyra Bia, and Lasundari Baldwin making CAC the program with the most Native American athletes in the NJCAA for the sport of cross country.
